چکیده
Previous investigations with a spectrum of tu mors demonstrated that nitrogen mustards (17) and triethylene melamine (19) had a definite in hibitory or destructive action on certain types of tumors. In view of the fact that the biological ac tivity of these compounds is believed to be due to the formation of ethylenimmonium ions in the case of the former (7) and the presence of ethylenimine groups in the case of the latter, the study was extended with compounds closely related to these substances on a wide spectrum of tumors. Results in experimental animal tumors reported from other laboratories (1-3, 6, 9-11, £0, 21) and in human cancer (4, 8, 20) have indicated that tri ethylene phosphoramide and triethylene thiophosphoramide merited intensive study. Our observa tions on the effect of these compounds on a variety of transplantable mouse and rat tumors have been briefly reported (14, 18) and are now presented in more detail. The structural formulae of these com pounds have in common the cyclic structure, ethylenimine :

EFFECT OF IRON OVERLOAD ON 7, 12-DIMETHYLBENZ (A) ANTHRACENE-INDUCED SKIN TUMORIGENESIS
Iron overload is known to occur in the West European and American population due to the consumption of iron-rich diets. On the other hand, genetic disorders leading to iron overload are also known. Iron overload leads to increased peroxidation and disruptive disintegration of lipid-rich membranes, and predisposes humans for an enhanced risk of cancer induction. In experimental animals iron ...

Background and Objective: Using dendritic cells (DCs) loaded with tumor antigens as a therapeutic strategy against tumors has been proposed. In order to increase the efficacy of DCs, a variety of factors such as TLR ligand molecules and bacterial products are used. In this study, the protein components of the bacteria Listeria monocytogeneses (LM) for induction of dendritic cell maturation were...
متن کاملP-56: The Effect of Hydrostatic Pressure on Mouse Sperm Hyperactivation
Background: Mammalian sperm are not ready to fertilize oocyte immediately after ejaculation. Sperm achieve this ability after undergoing the processes of capacitation and hyperactivation. Hyperactivation refers to a change in the motility pattern of the sperm. Pharmacological reagents and physical-mechanical forces have been used in sperm from a variety of species. Hydrostatic pressure is a cru...
متن کاملBlockade of Hypoxia: The Impact on Tumor Growth in an Experimental Tumor Model
Background: Tumor microenvironment is an active factor participating in immunoregulation, thereby preventing immunosurveillance and limiting the efficacy of anticancer therapies. Hypoxia as a major characteristic of solid tumors causes the expression of Hypoxia-Inducible Factor-1α (HIF-1α). This is a transcription factor that mediates hypoxic responses of tumor cells and involves in the express...
متن کاملThe effect of Fibroblast Growth Factor-2(FGF-2) and retinoic acid on differentiation of mouse embryonic stem cells into neural cells
Introduction: Embryonic Stem (ES) cells as pluripotent cells derived from the inner cell mass of blastula can differentiate to neural cells in vitro and this property is valuable in studies of neurogenesis and in the generation of donor cells for transplantation. In this regard, the propose of this research, was the study of the role of two important factors in the development of neural syst...
